Just some thoughts...

It's finally Friday! Yah!! It's been a great week and it's going to be an even better weekend. My husband is off and we are headed to the pool, to see some fireworks, and to help my brother move. I'm so excited to get to spend some quality time with Jay! Did I mention that he is off next weekend too!? A girl could get used to this...

This morning when I was on my way to work, I got on the highway and noticed in my side mirror that there was an Army truck (you know- one of those camoflauged squatty looking things with the big wheels) coming down the middle lane. Well, then I realized there was a whole LINE of Army trucks coming down the highway (I'm talking at least 10) and there were some more larger equipment-carrying Army trucks out in front of them. No one else driving down the highway got into their line and they were in perfect unison going down the road... At first I was a little worried- thinking- "Why in the world... ? What's going on... ?" Then- as I drove past each truck (What?! they were going REALLY slow), each carrying 4 troops dressed out in Army fatigues, hats, a few of them holding some sort of weapon, with very serious expressions on their faces, I got a little teary eyed and got goose bumps all over thinking- "Here you are, Lacy, driving down the road, listening to some music (RIP Michael Jackson), headed to work where you are safe and sound, and there they go... headed to who knows where into who knows what kind of danger." It really made me proud to be an American (as cheesy as that sounds). I wanted to scream thank you out the window of my car but then I figured I better not because they might mistake me for a terriost or something and take me out. It was a really moving experience though... to say the least.

Last night was horse back riding night again... I really think I'm becoming obessed with horses now (as well as dogs. Sorry honey- we may have to get a horse...). I was a leader again (YAH!) and was with Flash again (YAH!). I really think he's starting to become attached to me... really. We were standing in the outdoor arena and I started scratching his neck. Well, let me just tell you, he LIFTED his head up so high and just had this this look on his face like "Don't stop, don't stop! Oh that feels so good". After that he was like putty in my hands... :) Afterwards I washed him off and put him in the arena for the night. I scratched him a few more times and walked away to do something else. I walked back by the door a few minutes later and he was still standing there looking like "Hey- where'd she go?". He's so sweet... I think I'm in love...

This week we have also found more TICKS on Chance. Has anyone else had a tick problem? Because we HAVE! We've had at least 10 (1 on me, 1 on Jay, and the rest on Chance). They are just crawling when we find them and yes, I use the stuff on Chance and Salem that's supposed to keep them off but they are SO bad this year! It is so gross! So, sorry everyone, but I'm praying for a hard frost to make them all go away. Ha!

Well- off to finish cleaning house so I can relax for the rest of the weekend. Bye!
