Randomness

OK- sorry- I know it's been a while. We've been pretty busy. Jay's working a lot (go figure). I worked a golf tournament for the bank on Friday. Had to sit at a hole to be a witness if anyone got a hole in one. Needless to say, no one did and it was pretty boring but it was so nice to be out of the office for once. AND I learned how to drive a golf cart- how fun!?

I picked up my dad's father's day gift on Saturday and went ahead and gave it to him. Was that wrong of me? I hope not. I thought he could go ahead and use it... I took the dogs (Salem and Chance- by the way- have you met them? They're the best!) to my dads to run around and play. They had a blast and were so tired when we got home.

This week's been pretty normal- nothing crazy. I wonder if it will ever stop raining here? It's rained for like 3 days now- is this Seattle or Winston-Salem?! But I'm thankful for it. We could be in a drought again... Can I just say though that I HATE weeds?! Why do they grow? Or better yet- why do they grow in my flower beds?! I hate them! I hate seeing them, I hate pulling them, I hate them. Yeah- I have weed cloth down to help reduce the numbers but they manage to grow anyway. I spray round up constantly (I know- not good for the enviroment but what am I supposed to do?!). Any suggestions?

On another note- I watched the Winston-Salem City Council meeting tonight (oh my gosh- I'm such an adult!). They were voting on the proposal to fund more money into the new baseball stadium downtown. Mind you it has sat half complete for like 6 months because the developer ran out of money and his business partner (his brother-in-law) bailed out on him (I could give you more ugly details but let's get down to business people)... As I watched, I listened to all of my fellow Winston-Salem-ers and was amazed by some of their comments(and that I actually "knew of" some of them). Most were in favor of the City funding the completion of the stadium. But there were others who were against it. I would like to ask them personally- what exactly are we supposed to do with a half complete eye-sore-of-a-hole stadium? Just let it sit there and become a hot bed for drugs, rodents, and crime? What exactly would YOUR solution be if the City were to not fund the completion? I don't understand it. If we started it we need to finish it. Period. How dumb would we look if we didn't? "Hey- that's the city that can't get anything done!" I don't think this would project a good image for Winston-Salem. I grew up here. I went to Spirit's games... I've been to Warthogs' games. Yeah- those were fun but to be honest with you Ernie Shore field was a bit "rinky-dinky" if you ask me. This new stadium is going to be awesome; the "bomb". LOL :) I, for one, am VERY excited about it and all that it will bring to Winston-Salem. Not just baseball but concerts and other family fun events. Like it's been said before- "If you build it, they will come".

So- in the end, the City of Winston-Salem approved it. They're going to finish the stadium. So GOOD for them and GREAT for Winston-Salem. I'll be first in line to buy a ticket. Thank you!

I also just got a call from our good friend Kirt. We're supposed to be dog sitting for them next week but we may not now... apparently Yuki (the dog- I know-weird name... I have no clue) is sick. Pancreatitis? (Did I spell that right?) So- he may be going with them now. Poor Yuki. I'm praying for a speedy recovery for him!

Sorry this is so long... I'm bored and my husband's not at home so I try to find things to pass the time. Guess I'll go to bed now... NIGHT! :)
